Joe Mantey

Joe retired from the Corps of Engineers in 2000 after a 20 year career. He was an economist and a project manager at both the Detroit and Los Angeles Districts. He earned his MS in agricultural economics at the University of California, Davis while on a Civil Works Fellowship from the Corps of Engineers.
After leaving the Corps, Joe taught economics at Oakland Community College before becoming a cheesemonger. He works for his wife, The Cheese Lady, in downtown Farmington, Michigan. Joe was appointed Treasurer of the US Section in 2004.
