Matthew Martinez is a Vice President for Moffat and Nichol, with nearly four decades of experience in providing reports, special project documentation, design, construction documents, and construction period services for architectural and engineering projects for a variety of public, government, and private institutions. He has acted as Project Manager and/or Project Structural Engineer for the planning, design, analysis, and seismic retrofit of waterfront structures, buildings, and bridges.
Typical clients have included the federal government (U.S. Navy, Veterans Administration), state government (California Department of Transportation), municipalities (San Diego Unified Port District, Ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach), and variety of private entities.
Mr. Martinez’ experience has involved steel, concrete (pre-cast and post-tensioned), masonry, timber, and aluminum structures. His seismic experience has included both static and dynamic analyses for buildings and waterfront structures in areas of high seismicity, including assessment of marine structures in accordance with California State Lands Commission “Marine Oil Terminal Engineering Maintenance Standards (MOTEMS)”.
Mr. Martinez has served on the Board of Directors of the Structural Engineers Association of San Diego and served as President of the Association.
