The table below provides information on active working groups with vacancies or new working groups that have been formed. PIANC USA can appoint a (1) Principal Representative, (2) an Alternate, and (3) a “Young Professional” – someone aged 40 and under – to a working group. The Principal Representative should be able to attend meetings of the working group, which are usually held in a European city, approximately twice per year. PIANC USA does not provide travel or per diem expenses for working group participants, so this support must be provided by the individual or his/her agency/company.
Working Group Members should either be an Individual Member of PIANC, working for a Corporate Member, be an invited expert, or a be a member of a Sister Association.
The Terms of Reference (ToR) for each Working Group identifies the desirable disciplines and experience for perspective Working Group (WG) members. PIANC USA seeks to enable a broader group of interested professionals to participate in the thoughts and discussions leading to development of the Technical Report. We look for the WG member to serve as a team leader, sharing information from the WG discussions with the US support team, hosting virtual discussions, collecting feedback and sharing the information with the WG. The result is greater US participation and engagement and a better end product.
Additionally, PIANC US holds quarterly webinars for our members. We look for the Technical Report, when issued, to be presented at a quarterly webinar. The WG member is not required to make the presentation, but will assure it is presented.
