PIANC Presentation at the Brazilian Pilot Seminar
/
On December 6, serving in his role as the Vice President of the Americas, Mr. Calvin Creech had the privilege of presenting at the International Seminar of Brazilian Pilots in Brasilia, Brazil – promoting the value of PIANC together with newly established PIANC Brazil Section. The presentation was entitled “The PIANC Framework for Improving Waterborne Transport Infrastructure.”
The event was hosted by the Praticagem do Brasil, a PIANC member and long-standing institution representing pilotage entities. Part of Praticagem do Brasil’s 45th National Pilotage Meeting, the event focused on international instruments for responding to accidents involving large ships, such as the International Convention on Civil Liability for Damage Caused by Oil Pollution (CLC) and the International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks in Sea (Nairobi Convention).
The objective was to raise awareness about the importance of adhering to these instruments and their updates – a great opportunity for PIANC to highlight our international membership, esteemed technical guidance and library, and countless opportunities for knowledge-building.
